The cost is determined by the size of your closet and the type of system designed. It is not possible to give you a cost without first seeing your closet, understanding your needs, and working with you to customize a Smart Design! back to top
What steps are involved in designing my closet?
The Smart Design experience involves three easy steps. At the free in-home consultation, we measure the space and assess your storage needs. We then personalize a custom design that combines your style and provides maximum use of the space. After finalizing the design the date is set for installation. back to top

Smart Design offers residential and commercial storage solutions. We create custom solutions for closets, offices, garages, pantries, media rooms, mudrooms, and more. Each system is customized to the space and function needed. Smart Design is also a manufacturer of closet components. back to top

Do you give away or sell your designs?
Smart Design reviews the design with the customer. We do not release the designs until a deposit is made. We sell designs for residential and commercial use. back to top
What type of materials do you use?
Smart Design offers ¾ inch melamine or paint and stain grade hardwoods. back to top
Are there different color options?
Yes! We offer seven standard colors in the melamine wood. The hardwood can be any stain or paint color of your choice. back to top

Will the closet be mounted on the wall or set on the floor?
We offer both wall mounted and floor-based systems. The choice depends on what is best for each unique situation. back to top
Do your units have backs?
Typically your wall acts as the back of your closet system. Unless there is a specific reason why a back is needed or desired, backs are not included. We can provide backing where appropriate as part of the custom design. Backing is commonly used for things like benches and islands. back to top
Do you patch and paint the closet?
We will remove the existing closet and patch any holes. We can provide painting services for an additional cost. back to top
How long does installation take?
Most installations can be done in one day, but larger closets or multiple closets may take longer. back to top
Does Smart Design accept credit cards or debit cards?
Yes, we accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and financing from our Smart Pay Program. back to top
How does your Smart Pay Program work?
Smart Pay is our own financing program exclusive to Smart Design Closet Company. Approval only takes minutes with credit lines available up to $25,000. There are no minimum purchase requirements on any interest terms. Customers can view and pay bills online. back to top
